Santiago de Compostela is located in a region of northwestern
Spain called Galicia (red box in the image).
Santiago has an international airport with daily flights to several european destinations including
London Heathrow, Paris Orly, Brussels, Amsterdam, Geneve and Zurich.
There are also many daily connections with Madrid Barajas and
Barcelona (60 min. and 90 min. flights, respectively), from which most european destinations can be reached.
The airport is 12 km from Santiago.
There is a bus link to Santiago's city centre (ticket price: 1.55 euro).

The departure and arrival point of
the airport bus in the city centre can be found in this map.
A taxi ride from the airport should cost no more than 15 euro.
The two other airports of Galicia (in Vigo and A Coruņa) provide also some international flights.
These two airports are connected by highway with Santiago de Compostela.
For your information, it is also feasible to reach Santiago de Compostela
from the International Airport of Porto, Portugal (by train or car). Nevertheless,
the rail connection Porto-Santiago is not convenient.

For those attendants coming from Spain and Portugal, rail and road links are also an option.
Santiago has very good road connections with Portugal (Santiago-Porto: approx. 2 h. 30 m.
by highway, Santiago-Lisbon: approx. 5 h. by highway) and Madrid (Santiago-Madrid: 5 h. 30 m. by highway).
There are also rail links connecting Santiago with most destinations in the Iberian Peninsula.
Nevertheless, we only recommend train for short distances (attendants coming from Galicia).
