The Intelligent System Group was founded in 1989 by the current Rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Senén Barro Ameneiro. Nowadays, it is constituted by 24 members, which are either PhD students or postdoctoral fellows in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. The researchers of the group are assigned to the Department of Electronics and Computer Science at USC.
The group basically aims to develop Advanced computational solutions, using Artificial Intelligence techniques like Soft Computing (Fuzzy logic and neural computing) and Knowledge Management in the scope of the Information Technology. Our research is oriented to synthesize systems which exhibit an intelligent behavior, using the tools provided by Computer Science, both to solve real problems and to progress in the knowledge of Artificial Intelligence.
According to the Xunta de Galicia we are a Group of Excellence, an award credited to our research productivity, the ability organizing events, our experience in project management and the ability to master PhD students.
Due to the requirements of his current position, the principal researcher has low availability. Therefore, you can contact for further information with either Jesús Presedo or Alberto Bugarín.
